Critical writing involves creating a cohesive text that connects ideas logically. To achieve this, one must possess both critical thinking and critical reading skills. Critical thinking involves questioning everything we hear and see, examining the source, content, and outcome to ensure we fully comprehend and avoid any misconceptions. On the other hand, critical reading is a focus on what we read. When reading, we must comprehend the author's intentions, the points they are trying to convey, the acceptability of their reasoning, whether they truly believe what they have written, and the implications of their text. Mastering critical thinking through reading can help us produce texts with strong arguments that support our ideas and persuade the reader.
